BFA TRACK & FIELD PHILOSOPHY and EXPECTATIONS

B.F.A. Track & Field is a co-ed team/individual sport that believes all athletes are important. All of our athletes are expected to be at practice every day, and to compete in every meet they are eligible to compete in. Most regular season meets are open to all of our athletes, some hosting schools do limit the number athletes we can enter in an event for their meet. We will do our best to have all of our athletes compete in every meet that they are able to compete in.

With that in mind though we expect our athletes to hold themselves to high standards at school, practice, competitions, and out in the community. They must keep their grades up and attend classes every day. Any deviation from this could lead to removal from the team or not competing in some meets. We have a five day rule.....that is an athlete is allowed to miss five days of practice during the season. Anything over that and they may be asked to leave the team.

There are some meets that there are qualifying standards for, and only athletes that meet the standards may compete. Burlington and Essex Invitationals, and the State Championships are such meets. The Bobwhite Relays and Rebel Relays we are limited to the number of teams we may enter.

PRACTICES: Pre-season practices are in the B.F.A. gym after school until 4:15pm. Once we get to the track , practices will last until 4:30 - 4:45pm.
